yesterday I headed to the Farmer’s market for some fruit. one of the farmers had a pet dog and Bingo was his name-o pointed out that the market is closed until Jan 6th! I’m happy I got some good sampling in before that

After the market I stopped in TJ’s for lunch. brown Rice California rolls help satisfy a sushi craving (for now).

Then, I headed to my mom’s to humiliate my dogs.

At least I took off the costumes to take them for a walk.

 I threw together some quick pizzas for dinner before my fun project…

The reason I was there was to make a Gingerbread house with my little brother. I gotten this kit at Trader Joe’s this week.

It is incredibly easy to use and put together! All you need to add is one egg white and a few drops of vinegar. (We added a lot of other candy because it doesn’t come with that much.)

It has a little family too! But, I don’t really get who the lady with the cane is meant to be?

I set it up and Matt and I got to work decorating.

A piece of our tree was missing. I tried to convince Matt a branch fell off in the storm, but he wasn’t getting it.

I blame Bailey.

I grabbed a glass of milk and was ready to eat this thing!

The first thing I wondered when I gotten this kit was, “Are you really able to eat it though?!” Áno! I say if there is nutrition information on the back they figure you’re going to eat it.

But, my mommy made white chocolate macadamia nut cookies for us instead. I’m not a big fan of this kind of cookie, but they were warm out of the oven and I couldn’t stop myself from eating 5 of them, plus eggnog and some ice cream(!).

The cookies, coupled with the tree branch candy decorations left me feeling excessively full and bloated. I felt like ish for a second then realized so lots of other bloggers have been in similar circumstances this season – not that it makes it okay, but it makes it normal.

It’s not like there is something wrong with me for eating too lots of cookies. This is the time of year with a ton of temptations – and I need a game plan before I go into it or this happens to me. lots of people over eat at a holiday party or when freshly baked cookies are around. The crucial is to realize it’s normal and get back on the healthy balance wagon the next day (NOT fall into a binge until Dec 31st like I’ve done in years past).

If you’ve had issues with food in the past you might think overeating at a party equals a relapse or a binge or a step backwards. This isn’t necessarily true. When I was seeing R.D. Tribole (and author of the Intuitive eating book) she pointed out that people with no history of food issues overeat on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Not that it’s healthy, but that it’s normal. (She also said no one eats ice cream because they’re hungry, which kinda changed my life.)

Co si myslis? Is it “acceptable” to overeat at a party or while baking cookies? how do you keep yourself from overeating while baking or at a party?

Myslíte si, že ľudia sú si vedomí skutočnosti, že (väčšina) rýchleho občerstvenia je pre nich zlé? Ak áno, prečo to stále jedia?

Ako môžu obchodníci/inzerenti/rodičia/spoločnosti rýchleho občerstvenia urobiť zdravé jedlo atraktívnejšie, aby to ľudia požadovali?

Myslím si, že si ľudia mnohokrát uvedomujú, že jedlo, ktoré jedia, nie je zdravá voľba, ale nevedia, ako alebo kde získať dobrú ochutnávku zdravého jedla. Rýchle občerstvenie je tiež rýchle – čo je jeden z dôvodov, prečo by to bola prvá voľba niekoho.

Ben hovorí, že keď sa snaží byť zdravý, dostane šalát od Wendyho. Tiež je známe, že si objednáva kurací šalátový sendvič z Arbyho myslenia „šalát“ v názve znamená, že je zdravý. Hm, nie.

Ale nie som si istý, ako predávať zdravé jedlo, aby to ľudia chceli a deti o to požiadali!

One windy Run

This morning I was expected to do a 6 miler with 4 tempo miles. But, the wind was crazy! I kept my head down so my visor wouldn’t fly off as well as just did what I could.

Running costume Craft

After breakfast and blogging I headed to the gym for a quick strength session. I used the “hard body workout” from the WH big book of Exercises. It called for two rounds of each move 12 reps – but, I think that went by too fast and next time I’ll go through it 3 times.

Then, I headed out to get supplies for my costume for this weekend’s race. Michael’s Arts & Crafts is right next to a produce store so I grabbed some strawberries and cherries to go with my string cheese snack.

These strawberries are substantial (read: perfect for dipping in dark chocolate). just sayin’.

I considered ducking into Panera for lunch since it was right there, but I was craving a big ol’ teriyaki tofu rice bowl anyways so went home to eat. In an attempt to satisfy my craving I threw the following in a bowl and ate it: Costco Asian stir Fry veggies, Quorn meatballs and Peanut Sauce. Oh, and lots o’ cashews.

Trader Joe’s was sampling their Kettle Corn cookies today, which I’ve been eyeing for weeks! My mom and I have a deep love for Kettle Corn and I’ve been wanting to get them for her (read: get them for ME and give her one). I decided I didn’t need a box of cookies, I just need one and saved it for after lunch.

Now I have supplies for my half marathon costume! I have never run in a costume before and I’m not crafty at all so this might be a disaster.

Eating like I’m training

Today I did 8.77 miles extremely slow. Ugh, I don’t understand what’s up with my speed lately  ? I was shooting for between 8 as well as 10 miles depending upon exactly how I felt. My knee started hurting around mile 4 as well as went away for a bit, then came back. I’m going to ice it in a bit.

I assumption I’m utilized to running super long training runs on Saturday since I fueled before as well as after the run like it was a 20 miler. I usually eat quite indulgently on Saturdays since it’s my long run day – I much better regime that in since I’m not at the height of training any type of more!

Pre-run: before I left I had an honest foods bar as well as a handful of cereal (no pic).

Breakfast: When I got back I kinda had to eat the rest of this cantaloupe since it’s going to go poor soon. I filled it with a little scoop of cottage cheese (it was all I had left) as well as some trail  mix.

Oranžové jedlá – tekvicový ovos

Moja matka uviedla, že keď som bol kúsok, využil som sa, aby sa mi páčili všetky pomarančové jedlá … sladké zemiaky, mrkva a tekvica! V tomto aspekte som sa nezmenil!

Príliš chudobná moja matka nechápal o tekvicovom ovose, keď som bol mladík – šla som to! V miske: 1/3C ovos, voda, sójové mlieko, vanilka, Stevia, tekvicové koláč, tekvica a semená chia. Po obrázku som pridal hnedý cukor. Som zvedavý, ako ma táto misa bude udržiavať naplno, pretože som nepridal žiadny druh orechového masla. Uvidíme.

Protein packed Cakes

happy Monday! I didn’t recognize I was wrong on Sunday set up as well as my routine called for 4 miles today with some stamina thrown in. So, I did 4 miles as well as will do my stamina after my morning client.

You guys understand I have a deep passionate like for pancakes. It’s almost inappropriate (well at least the noises I make when I eat them are). Luckily, I understand exactly how to bust out a healthy pancake so it’s not like I’m eating chocolate Chip Banana Pancakes 5 days a week (no, we save that for Saturdays).

My pumpkin pancake recipe is my “go to” breakfast, however I wanted to try as well as pump up the protein in it. So this morning I made flourless pancakes as well as substituted protein powder for the flour (or oatmeal).

The guts:

1/2c egg whites

1 scoop vanilla whey protein

1/2 tsp baking soda as well as baking powder

dash salt, pumpkin pie spice

packet of stevia

1 tsp chia seeds

1/4 pumpkin (optional)

The glory:

(They are a little flat as well as more crepe-like than fluffy pancake, however they’re tasty!)

Recept na vaječný ovos – Raňajky s vysokým obsahom bielkovín

Môj prvý bootovací tábor tohto zasadnutia šiel skvele! Máme menšiu skupinu, pretože SoCal Peeps zostane mimo chladu (48 pre nás mrzne!), Dúfam však však, že mi to poskytne oveľa väčšiu šancu skutočne pracovať ženy, ktoré mám!

Po tábore som sa chystal zvoliť jednoduchý beh 3 míle, avšak môj Garmin zomrel, takže nechápem presne, ako ďaleko to skutočne bolo (stále v parku Sphere).

Vždy to beriem jednoduchým behom po závode (v sobotu spustenej polovici!) Aby som skontroloval svoje telo a presne som videl, ako sa to cíti. Zranil som sa po druhom maratóne (pred niekoľkými rokmi som spustil maratón Walta Disneyho). Nepoznal som škody, ktoré preteky spôsobili na mojom tele až do budúceho týždňa na liečivej behu. Takže po závode som spustil krátky „triasť sa“, aby som zistil, ako sa všetko cíti

Od januára 2011 som sa začal snažiť získať oveľa viac bielkovín v mojej strave. O rok neskôr sa stále stále snažím nájsť úžasné metódy na jedenie bielkovín (pretože môj poschod má rád cukor). Chcel som vyskúšať Tinu’s No Oats Mod, pretože na to poukázala.

Pretože som nikdy nedodržal recept, vytvoril som si vlastnú verziu.

Recept na vaječný ovos: 3/4 ° C vaječné bielky, 1 banán, 1 TB. Grécky jogurt, posypané mlieko, pomlčka: soľ, škorica, cukor. Varilo sa v malej omáčke, až do hustého. Konzistentnosť je trochu čudná, ako by s najväčšou pravdepodobnosťou niektorí ľudia vonku, ale páčilo sa mi to!

Doplnil som to semenami chia, hnedou ryžovou cereálnou, PB, ako aj polovicou larabaru.

Som zvedavý, ako dlho ma to udrží plné, pretože mám vždy hlad s ovsami o 1 hodinu neskôr! Všetci som na vysoké bielkovinové raňajky, ktoré sú sladké !!

OTÁZKA: Poskytli by ste jedlo, ktoré sa vám nepáčilo prvýkrát, druhá šanca?

Pokiaľ sa mi to úplne nepáčilo prvýkrát.
